Munnar, also known as South India’s Kashmir, brings a picture of luscious tea plantations all around. The beautiful climate and greenery all around attracts people from near and far all the year round. The pristine landscape is something which will stay in your mind forever if you have visited at least once. There are a lot more than just tea plantations there. There is the Eravikulam National Park, The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, dams, waterfalls, tea factories and lots more. The panoramic view is worth taking a hike or trek. The name comes from the amalgamation of the words “Moonu” and “aar” meaning ‘three ‘ and ‘stream’ respectively. The place is the meeting place of the three rivers namely Kundala, Nallathanni as well as Mudrapuzha and they flow as one from here and hence the name-“Munnar”.
